We're One Family

i realised when someone in the family falls sick, u will see the strength of the bond btw the entire family..

remembered vividly, when my maternal granny passed away, all my cousins, aunts, uncles gathered together for the whole 5 days 4 nights, (she had 11children, 7girls + 4boys, God knows how many grandchildren she have..its a big big BIG family!) spending as much time as they cld.. that was one of the deepest memories i had with some of my cousins whom i'll usually meet once a year during CNY.. it was both a happy & sad moment for most. happy cause my granny was already 80 back then, and died of old age.. glad that she didnt have to go through any death pains like most. sad because, we lost her, we can no longer see her, hear her.. definitely, remembered as a very amiable graceful old lady. all that aside, i think i miss her ngoh hiong the most! its so yummy, ive never tasted better.. =) those were the gd old days, im sure she's in some paradise now~

now, ah gong(Paternal) is sick. though he dun have that many children as compared to my maternal granny. he've got 4 really filial children.. including my dad of course :) though all are always busy with work, they never fail to call my place everyday to send their regards to their father. whats more, they take turns to drop by every other day to take a look.

uncle juz dropped by to peep in when its already 11pm, i doubt he had dinner.

maybe to many, its a "supposed-to-do-thing" since their father is ill. but i guess, all these shows how much my ah gong matters to them. though ah gong havent been too close to them before this illness came upon. this sickness is a blessing in disguise cause it brought this whole extended family even closer.

definitely made me feel more for ah gong. though he stays at my place.. we do exchange conver everyday, but nth more den "have u eaten?" "where are u going?" or maybe sometimes, once in awhile, i'll joke ard with him a lil. to think, now i actually sit down beside him everynight to apply cream onto his leg, massage him a little. he holds my hand. seriously, before this happened, i wld never imagine theres gonna be such bond btw us.

i think when human needs one another.. when u start to be dependent on one another, u will tend to feel more. he used to be very stubborn, independent and enjoys living in his own world. now.. we're in his world. he's in ours too.

we've been talking abt taking a family photo at the studios. have been years! we signed up for a package like 5 yrs back? yr aft yr.. we keep reminding ourselves we'll talk soon soon soon. but it seems like soon did come by..

finally, this sunday we'll be taking our first ever 全家幅 =)) i guess its one of ah gong's wishes.

we all know this wont go on for long.. we dunno when its gonna be his last breathe. at least we're given this chance to give him even more than before. unlike my granny who passed away in slience..

like my xiao gu says "anything he wants"

anyway, one saying thats scientifically proven says "a family that eats together stays together"
true for me =)
